Murals
Mural design and creation requires a unique skill set, and Sarah has both the background and the talent to execute these visually-striking projects.
Tapping into her experience with textiles and fine art, the SD studio can create beautiful, large-scale murals to brighten any exterior (or interior) wall. From telling your brand’s story to making your building a true visual showcase, Sarah will bring your vision to life through an exceptional eye-catching journey.

Greetings From New Philadelphia
It was an honor to paint a mural for the city of New Philadelphia, OH in the style of a vintage “Greetings From…” postcard.
I used two variables to choose visual icons for the insides of the letters; historical relevance and unique charm factor.

Fight The Blight
“Fight The Blight” is a hand painted mural created in 2017 as an initial public art project to revitalize the small, rural, town of New Philadelphia, Ohio.
The direct yet beautifully executed message has empowered downtown building owners to take pride in the look of their buildings and a flourishing arts district has since emerged.

Zeisberger
This historical mural features David Zeisberger, a Moravian preacher and peacemaker who settled a community called Schoenbrunn with the Delaware and Leni Lenape Indian tribes in the late 1700’s.
The Zeisberger mural was painted on aluminum panels behind my studio then disassembled and installed on site at the top of the two story building in downtown New Philadelphia.
I create two pieces of artwork when making a mural. The first is a scale painting derived from research and concept sketches. The second is the final mural on the wall. All artwork is created by hand, I only use computers when a fair amount of text is involved.

This Is The Way, Walk In It
“This Is The Way, Walk In It” is a large scale mural at bfearless Boutique in Walnut Creek, Ohio.
The feelings of rolling seas and surf and being called to walk in places that are seemingly not walkable without the hope of the Lord is the inspiration behind this piece.

One World Restoration
This mural was originally painted by a group called Up With People in the early 1980’s. I had the pleasure of restoring it in 2018.
I stayed true to the original design only adding a bit of compositional interest in the sun rays as well as some pattern work on the clothing.

John Glenn
The John Glenn mural is located at Harry Clever Field in New Philadelphia, Ohio where John Glenn received his initial pilot training and license as part of the Civilian Pilot Training Program in 1941.

#alonetogether
This mural was painted in response to the “Going on a Bear Hunt” game that parents played with their children during the lockdown in 2020.
I created a gang of bears for kids to spot while out and about.
